Welcome Back (Almost)
Good Evening everyone,
I hope you all had a restful Easter Break. It’s hard to believe we are about to enter our busy summer term where there’s sure to be lots going on to keep us busy. Mrs Sinclair hopes to have a calendar out to you by the end of the week to keep you updated.
Just a small reminder that all school children should’ve taken home their indoor shoes with them before the holidays. Please ensure your child returns to school tomorrow with indoor shoes. We do not expect you to have purchased brand new ones, a pair your child uses at home will be perfect as long as they are clean and dry. If your child did not bring home any shoes but you’d like to check the condition of their indoor shoes, please speak to a member of staff. Please spread this reminder for us incase anyone misses this post.
With the weather improving (fingers crossed) it’s really important that your child stays hydrated. The children can access water at any time of the day in class but it’d be great if you were able to provide a water bottle to stay in their bag for break times.
We’d also advise popping their P.E kit in their bags at the start of each week. It’s often the case that the children ask to get changed if the weather is warm for break times and this is something we do allow providing they change back into their uniform for returning to class. It’s also handy to have incase of any slips, trips or spillages.
We look forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow – Monday 16th April at 9.00am.
See you then 😊
Free fun tomorrow for everyone!
Just a wee reminder for everyone that Playscheme is on again tomorrow and Wednesday.
This is a free, fun event for everyone.
Please come along and take advantage of this excellent opportunity!

Parent Questionnaire
Hi everyone, Safe, Strong and Free really need your input into their research questionnaire so please if any of your children have had input from the service then please take a few minutes to fill this in…. Also if you wouldn’t mind sharing it that would be great!
The feedback recieved is essential to the continued, successful delivery of the workshops in the most effective manner.
Safe, Strong and Free’s main aim is to reduce the vulnerability of OUR young children to abuse and assault so as a parent I didnt think twice to invest the few minutes it took to feedback on my child’s experience.
Has your child been through our Safe Strong and Free workshops? It doesn’t matter how long ago it was, we would love it if you could fill in this short questionnaire for us.

Your feedback helps to ensure that our programme continues to be useful and relevant so please do pass it on to ALL PARENTS who may be able to help. Thank you 👍❤️😊

Polar Day
The whole school were treated to a fantastic morning of learning today led by Primary 6/7 and assisted by Ms Brewer. We were lucky enough to have Dr Kevin Worral join us from Glasgow University too. He noted he was very impressed by the pupil’s leadership skills and he has never observed children teach others in this way.
The children moved round 4 stations before break and 4 stations after break to explore what clothes you wear in the arctic, what food you eat, the animals you may see, how to keep warm, the impact of climate change, floating/sinking, food webs and the arctic animal’s features.
The children did a marvellous job of taking the lead and demonstrated excellent skills as they presented to the children.
A huge thank you and well done to you all for such a fantastic day.

End Of Term Achievement Assembly
We really hope you are able to join us for our end of term assembly at 2.00pm on Wednesday afternoon.
It is hard to believe we have reached the end of term 3 already. We are really looking forward to sharing our successes and achievements with you at assembly and there will be some very important P7 presentations being made following their residential trip.
All parents and carers are welcome to join us.
Primary 1-3 Living & Growing
Primary 1-3 have been working together to explore living things and how they grow and develop.
Miss Bruce explored needs and wants with the children. They had some pictures and as a group they had to discuss whether the item was required to survive or whether it was just something they would like to have.
Miss O’Brien planted seeds with the children. They discussed what plants need to grow and survive. (All children will be given a plant tomorrow to take home to care for over the holidays. They should bring it back to school afterward so we can discuss it’s growth.)
Miss Ross discussed who the children need to look after them in their lives. The children had to consider who takes care of them in their home and who is responsible outside of their home. They drew pictures to represent this which were shared at Parent’s Night tonight.
With me, the children explored the life cycle of a frog. We talked about what frogs need to grow and develop and compared this to humans. The children had to discuss whether it was fair to hold the tadpoles in school or not.
