Nursery Quiz Night

A huge thank you to those of you who were able to support our Nursery Quiz Night. It really was a super night made even better by raising a grand total of £400! This money will go toward developing our outdoor snack area.

The winners of the quiz were the ‘Teacher’s Pets’ who scored a whopping 51 points. Here they are pictured below with their prizes. 51fbc79b-56df-4740-8b09-ae26c15acab9

Thank you to all of our lovely staff who gave up their Friday night to make this event such a success. Special thanks to the quiz master- Mrs Forth.

Thank you Mairi, at the Mercat,  for allowing us to host the event at the Mercat and for helping us clear up afterward.

We were overwhelmed by the baking donations so a huge thank you to everyone who contributed. Everyone was able to enjoy a lovely half time refuel! (Champagne & Whisky not included). 2aef12e1-ac61-454e-963d-9dac59c4ebbb.jpg

Reminders

Good Morning Everyone,

We are all looking forward to welcoming our Primary 7s back to school, it’s been a quiet few days without them.

First, a huge thank you for your kind donations to Marie Curie. We raised £56.30 for the charity. The children looked fantastic in their yellow clothing, bobbles, socks and even some lovely hats made an appearance too.

I saw some very fancy socks as I arrived back at school yesterday. A huge thank you to you for supporting Downs Syndrome Awareness day too. I’m sure Mrs Nimmons will let us know the total raised very soon.

A HUGE thank you from Miss Bruce and Primary 2/3 for all of your kind donations. I have a feeling a super Bug Hotel will appear in the garden very soon.

A couple of reminders for the week ahead:

  • The Nursery Quiz night is tomorrow in the Mercat Centre at 7.00pm. £5 per head. Raffle tickets will also be on sale for £1 a strip. You could be in with  the chance of winning a lovely Family Night In hamper. There will also be some more games on the night so bring some spare change too. If anyone has any spare time on their hands, we’d really appreciate some baking donations. Looking forward to seeing lots of you there.

  • The Easter Egg Raffle tickets are selling well. This won’t be drawn until Tuesday so there’s still plenty time to purchase your tickets. £1 a strip or 20p a ticket. Many thanks to those of you who have already purchased a ticket.
  • Don’t forget all classes will be going to the Woods next Tuesday in the hope to catch the Easter Bunny so come prepared.
  • You will shortly receive a Parent Contact Appointment for your child, please contact the school if you are unable to attend.
  • The Nursery have sent information out about their Easter Egg Hunt with the Toddler Group on Wednesday. Please speak to a member of staff if you missed this.
  • Our End of Term Service is on Wednesday 28th March at 2.00pm, we look forward to seeing lots of you then.

Day 3

Day 3 is coming to a close. The children have had a super morning stripping beds, eating breakfast, packing their bags and finishing off their final activities.

We are currently back at the centre enjoying our lunch before we make the trip home.

The children have been a true credit to you (their parents) and us (school staff). We should all be feeling very proud. We hope to arrive back at the Academy for approximately 4.00pm. Ms Brewer & I will wait with the children until everyone is collected.

See you all soon 😊

Day 2 – update

Mrs Christie has arrived safe and sound and has taken over from Ms Brewer. 2138ea53-7dad-4fa0-9bc1-282ce396c2b8

Day 2 was just as successful as day 1. The sun shone again but there was still a chill in the air. The children took part in a variety of activities in their groupings again. They enjoyed a lovely meal of tomato soup, macaroni and peaches and ice-cream. Many rosy cheeks glowed around the room as I arrived. It’s clearly been a very tiring day! Woodland walks and nightlining took place after dinner followed by a hot chocolate and some biscuits for bed.

Here are some photographs of their day below. I’m sure the children will be sad to leave tomorrow. Some firm friendships and precious memories have already been created.

Bus due back to Invergordon Academy at approximately 3.00pm tomorrow.

Goodnight 😴

Parent Workshop

IMG_1704.JPGA huge thank you to all of our parents and carers who were able to make it along this morning. I hope you found the session useful, informative and fun!

I’m sure you’ll agree the children were fantastic and lots of fun was had by the adults too. I managed to take a couple of photographs from the day which you will see below.

We are delighted with the suggestions on how to move forward such as doing a similar workshop for Numeracy and running a workshop nearer the beginning of Primary 1. Please be assured we will take these on board and aim to adapt accordingly.

Thank you again for your participation, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you missed the event today but you’d like to learn more. A huge thank you to all of the staff who helped make this morning such a success, we really appreciate your support. IMG_1702IMG_1705IMG_1706IMG_1707IMG_1708IMG_1709IMG_1710IMG_1711
