We are Stars and today we all met Superheroes!

At assembly today we were delighted to celebrate with our shining stars. The children are excited to share their learning and achievements with you at the end of term by inviting you in to look through their Profiles.

Today at assembly we also met Blaze a very special superhero. We are learning to understand that we all have special super powers inside us to help us deal with the ups and downs of life.

Blaze, Crash and Rustle teach children how to activate their superpowers (coping mechanisms) to help deal with their strong feelings in a safe way. You might want to ask your child about the superpowers that Blaze has – the B’s (breathing and bouncing).

‘Under the Mask’ is a children’s book that involves three loveable superheroes teaching children how to recognise and manage their emotions. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at three emotions as a school – anger, sadness and worry.

10th October is Mental Health Awareness Day.

Mental wellbeing describes how you are feeling and how well you can cope with day-to-day life. It can change from moment to moment, day to day, month to month or year to year.

We want to ensure our children and families know the importance of making time for themselves, building positive relationships and getting active.

It has been fantastic to hear the positive feedback following the launch of “Raising Children with Confidence”. Several parents have reported how interesting they are finding the course. There are 3 weeks left – it’s not too late to get involved, each week sees a new topic being discussed. Please note – Carol is now running the course at the same time (Monday at 9) but in the new venue of the meeting room within The Mercat.
