On Friday 20th P4-7 teamed up with The Cromarty Firth Port Authority to participate in the Great Big British Beach Clean. This year pupils were supported by volunteers from Roadbridge. It was amazing to see so many coming along to get involved.
Some more information about the clean up:
“Our iconic annual Great British Beach Clean has been leading the way in tackling ocean pollution for 25 years, helping make some of the most significant impacts on beach litter ever – the plastic bag charge, banning microplastics in personal care products, better wet wipe labelling, and supporting a tax on single-use plastic items.
So far we’ve picked up 319 tonnes of litter at our Great British Beach Cleans.
The data collected at Great British Beach Clean events is shared with the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC), contributing to a worldwide report on litter levels. MCS also analyses the data and uses the results to raise awareness of pollution and tackle it at source in the UK.”
The children from Milton walked to Tarbet Beach to get involved.
Great job #teammilton
