We’ve had a great week so far at Milton Holiday Hub with lots of activities going on.  On Monday the children enjoyed a session of Music with Monica where all children were engaged in the activities provided.  Monday was finished off with a movie afternoon with Action for Children.  On Tuesday the children had a lovely morning with the choice of their own activities (mostly all outside running off some energy).  In the afternoon Action for Children provided an amazing activity – Impossible Challenges.  This was really popular with all the children working together in teams and Dawson and Alfie were our champions!! The impossible challenges included the best drawing of a giraffe, movie quiz, memory game and hide and seek with an object.

Today we had the pleasure of Lizzie joining us for some story telling and crafts.  We got to make some of our very own lanterns with a little tea light in the middle.

Milton Holiday Hub would like to wish a very special happy birthday to Darren!!

The activity on Thursday 24th – Adult Cooking Session 11am – 1pm is now cancelled.  As a replacement we now have Brid McKibben who will be joining us to speak with parents/carers about the school menu.

Well what a week it has been here at Milton Holiday Hub!!

We got the opportunity to experience some great activities throughout the week working in partnership with Highlife Highland and Action for Children.

On Monday, the children had the opportunity to be active with Ross County Football Club where they had fun developing their fine and gross motor skills.  We enjoyed a chilled movie afternoon provided by Action for Children.

On Tuesday, the children had the choice of playing old school board games or chosing their own activities within the setting.  We had the pleasure of welcoming some parents who joined us for this activity (who doesn’t love a game of Connect 4 or X’s and O’s??).

Wow Wednesday!! We had a brilliant day from start to finish.  In the morning we had Highlife Highland join us for some active games to develop our gross motor skills.  It was a little yucky outside so the children loved being active running around the hall.  In the afternoon we had the best time with a trip to Milton woods with Highlife Highland.  We all enjoyed an activity where we had to find the leaves which matched our worksheet.  The winners enjoyed some yummy chocolates! It was amazing to see such great teamwork going on throughout our trip to the woods.  Afterwards, we got the chance to toast some marshmallows by the fire making sure we kept ourselves safe.

Friday – we had a great end to the week with Dr Bike who joined us for the whole day.  He set up a great activity for the children to enjoy on their bikes.  They had to time each other on their bikes going round a course in the garden.  The children all got involved in this activity and would like to thank Dr Bike for his visit.  We also had the pleasure of having a dance session in the morning with Demi.

The canteen staff have been amazing at providing such yummy meals throughout the week for all the children, staff, and families to enjoy.  This has been a very popular time for families to join us and we would love for this to continue into week 2.

We have has some great feedback from parents/carers who have joined us throughout the week at different times.

You may have noticed Oor Willie has made a safe return back to Milton. He joined the children on Friday as they joined Ms Brewer for their awesome Friday celebrations.

We look forward to more awesome Friday celebrations next term!

We have lots and lots of lost property in school. If you think your child is missing anything please feel free to come in at 3 O’clock and claim anything that is yours.

There are TONS of activities at The Mercat, thanks to the good folks at Action for Children.

You can drop into the school or Mercat, to get a form, until 3pm tomorrow. This will reserve the spots on your desired days. Or you can COME IN ON THE DAY you want to join in – although pre-booking is recommended.

Please note there is still spaces available to book onto the Holiday Hub for half or full days. The Child Care Manager will be in Milton tomorrow, please come in during the afternoon to ensure all paperwork has been completed and handed in ahead of day one next Monday.
