Small reminder for Primary 6/7 parents who have a child attending a running series race tomorrow. The children will have an early lunch, around 12.00pm before departing for Invergordon. The race starts at 1.30pm so the children should return to school before 3.00pm.

Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. They will be provided with a school tracksuit but they will not be running in this so a suitable P.E kit including footwear will be necessary. It is advisable that the children also take a water bottle with them.

Just a short reminder for all P6/7 pupils who have been given permission from an adult to bring a smartphone/tablet device to school tomorrow – don’t forget to download the ‘Sphero Edu’ app and bring it to school with you tomorrow.

Please approach with caution, the playground is particularly slippery so we may re-direct you in via the gym hall but a member of staff will help with this.

I can only apologise folks. Due to the high volume of school closures, the phone line and website is not updating as quickly as we’d hoped.

Just to confirm the Nursery and Primary School is closed to all staff and pupils today.

Stay safe out there and please can I ask for your assistance in spreading the word in the community itself.

Milton Primary School and Nursery will be closed today due to bad weather.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. It was not a decision that was taken lightly but we must put the safety of our pupils and staff first.

The school was able to contact a listed emergency contact for all pupils today, however, there were some issues with some of the telephone numbers provided. Mrs Nimmons uses her records from the annual data checks that take place at the beginning of every year. If there is any update to this information, including priority order for calling the emergency contacts you’ve provided, please contact the school office ASAP to update us.

In this situation, our priority is ensuring the pupils are able to get home safely, especially when the weather conditions are worsening.

Looking at the forecast for the rest of today, and tomorrow, more snow is set to come.

In Miss Munro’s absence, I will endeavour to update you as soon as a decision has been made but please can I remind you that this decision will be continually reviewed throughout the day as the weather conditions are very changeable.

If an earlier closure is decided, like today, we will begin to make contact with parents/guardians using the list of emergency contacts you have provided. This is why it is essential that this information is kept up to date.
