The First Minster has just made an announcement closing schools after Friday this week.
Donna Manson, Chief Executive of The Highland Council said:
“Highland Council will need time to assess the impact of this announcement on our workforce, and our communities as well as on the provision of support for our young people.
“Further information will be forthcoming tomorrow, and please be assured that our central education team have been working extensively on providing learning materials for use at home.
More detail will be given to parents and carers and pupils from the Council later this week.
As was intimated by the First Minister, details about free school meals will again be forthcoming in the days ahead.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
We are expecting further information from the Scottish Government on what will be happening for older pupils regarding exams and the Council will provide further updates as they come.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.”

Good evening everyone. In the absence of Miss O’Shea, Primary 2/3 will be working with Primary 1. Tomorrow (Wednesday 18th March) we will all be heading to the woods in the morning. I would greatly appreciate it if you could ensure that children come to school appropriately dressed (coats, boots etc) and ready for a morning in the woods.
Thank You
Miss Robinson
Unfortunately, in light of the current uncertainty, I have decided to postpone the cluster sports for the rest of term. This affects the community sports programme at Invergordon Leisure Centre and Invergordon Academy. Could you please pass this message onto pupils and parents?
Keep safe and well!
Regards – Jake

As I’m sure you’re all aware the situation is ever changing. We remain in close contact with the Local Authority about the situation and we will be sure to communicate any changes to you as soon as we hear about them.
Hello all,
Unfortunately given the current situation we have been advised to cancel all non-essential travel. This means Primary 6/7 will not be going to the Shieling Project until further notice.
Unfortunately given the current situation, we have taken the decision to cancel our parent contact event on Wednesday 18th March. Please spread the word for us.
We have also taken the early decision to cancel our Easter service next Thursday 26th March.
The school remains open tomorrow. Please follow NHS guidelines when making the decision about whether or not your child is well enough to attend school. We will update you with any news from the Local Authority tomorrow as we hear it.
Good Morning all,
Sorry to bother you on a Sunday morning but I appreciate there may be some anxiety in our school community about the Corona Virus outbreak.
At Milton Primary, we are following the NHS guidelines meaning the children are being asked to wash their hands multiple times per day to further prevent the spread of infection. We urge you to follow the same guidelines at home. If we feel your child is presenting as unwell at school we will not hesitate to ring home and ask for them to be collected. We ask that you are considerate of the whole school community and ensure your child is 100% fit for learning before sending them to school.
The School remains open. We are following the Highland Council’s policy and procedure and will inform you immediately if the situation changes.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Your child should’ve taken home a slip advising you of your allotted time for Parent’s night next Wednesday 18th March. If you are unable to attend the time given, please phone Ms Nimmons as soon as possible so another time can be arranged.
