Staffing Update.

Milton Primary School staffing update for 2020/21

Head teacher update.

As you may have been aware, my secondment has now come to an end and I will now return to my previous post. It has been a privilege to have led the school through such a difficult time. I thank all parents/carers, pupils and staff for all of your support and team efforts over the past few months. I have been so proud of the efforts that families have gone to, to keep their children’s education continuing over this time. Thank you.

As Mrs Sinclair will remain in her seconded post until October, a new acting head teacher was appointed today.  I am delighted to let you know that Mrs Gemma Dunnett will take on the Acting HT role until October 1st.

Mrs Dunnett will be in touch with you in due course. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Mrs Dunnett lots of luck and enjoyment in her new role.

Retirement of Miss O’Brien

Sadly, Miss O’Brien is retiring from Milton P.S. and will not return in August.  We know that all of the children will miss Miss O’Brien greatly. She always went the extra mile to support the children in her care and they were all so fond of her. All of the staff would like to wish Miss O’Brien a very happy retirement and hope that she visits soon to let us say a proper goodbye.

Mrs Sutherland and Mrs MacDonald have written a message to show how much Mrs O’Brien is thought of here at Milton P.S.

We are sorry to be losing Miss Carol O’Brien from Milton Primary. Miss O’Brien has been a Pupil Support Assisstant for over 20 years and we are so lucky to have had her with us at Milton for the last 4 years. Miss O’Brien is a very valuable, popular and respected PSA and we are all going to miss her. We would like to wish Carol all the best in her new venture and she will always get a warm welcome at Milton Primary School.

Lots of love and thanks from the staff and pupils at Milton Primary School.”

Ms O’Shea

As you know, Ms O’Shea is now on maternity leave. We are all eagerly awaiting some happy news in the near future. Good luck Ms O’Shea from all of us.

I am pleased to inform you that Miss Crew secured the post to cover Ms O’Shea’s maternity leave this session. Miss Crew will teach P5/6/7. We are all very happy to have Miss Crew back as part of the team and she is looking forward to seeing her new class in August.

Mrs Candido Barton

Mrs Candido Barton has now completed her probation year with us and we wish her lots of luck in her future career. She has been an asset to the school this session and went above and beyond during school closure to look after and educate P4/5. We will miss you Mrs Candido Barton. Don’t be a stranger.

Mrs McGaskill and Mr Jansen

Both Mrs McGaskill and Mr Jansen have moved on to new challenges. We will miss them and wish them both the best of luck in the future.

Health and Well-being 20km Stars

A huge thank you to Mrs Martin for taking care of the spreadsheet for us. I have no doubt it was not an easy task with lots of screenshots of strava, step counters, fitbit reports making their way to her via various e-mails.

Mrs Martin was in touch to announce the children who consistently engaged with the challenge, and the children she observed taking part too. Not everyone may have achieved the 20km for the month of June but they all gave it their best effort. All children mentioned will receive something in recognition of their efforts which we hope to deliver to them tomorrow.

Congratulations to the following children for being a Milton Health and Wellbeing Stars. If there are any last minute additions, I’ll be sure to update you.

Aaron
Rosie
Emilia
Amelia and Keilidh (As seen by Mrs Martin 🙂
Mason
Gracie
Oliver
Harris

A special mention must also go to Miss O’Brien who averaged walking between 10-15km per day and consistently sent in proof to Mrs Martin. Well done Miss O’Brien!

Chromebook Reminder

Good Evening,

Just a reminder that Miss Crew and Mrs Christie will be at school tomorrow between 9.30-11.30am to collect the Chromebooks. If time is not suitable, please call the school from 9.00am and we will arrange an alternative for you.

We expect all school devices to be returned to us for the summer so we can re-distribute the correct devices to our P7s ahead of their move to Invergordon Academy.

Social distancing and appropriate hygiene procedures will be in place. Please ring the bell when you arrive and a member of staff will assist you.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Mrs Christie

P7 Leavers Assembly

Good Evening all,

On Friday Miss Crew and I hosted a virtual Leavers Assembly for Class of 2020. The afternoon did not go by without 1 or 2 technical issues so I am now uploading all of the material we hoped to share so everyone can see it. We hope it gives you a giggle although some parts may bring a tear to your eye too!

I can hardly believe we only have 4 working days to go until the Summer. Have a fabulous last week of term everyone!

Stay Active Challenge – Final Week

Please find your final ‘Stay Active’ Challenges attached for the two remaining days of June.

I will be speaking to Mrs Martin this week to announce our Health and Wellbeing 20km stars! Well done to everyone who has consistently sent in proof of their 5km walks.

I was delighted to receive these photographs of Emilia out on her bike last week. She looks so happy to be out in the fresh air – she has definitely got taller too!
