DramaWorkshops

Jonothan from Eden Court definitely helped us get into role on Wednesday during his drama sessions with classes. As part of the Blas festival we explored what it is like to live in the Highlands of Scotland. The children created all sorts of things using their bodies to create still images. Nessie and Inverness Castle were just two fantastic scenes created!  A huge thank you to our parents and friends who came along in the afternoon 👍

Check out P1/2… they were all hard at work applying their measuring skills to make some delicious fruit kebabs. The boys and girls in P3/4 and P5/6/7  were delighted when Miss Spicer’s class shared their lovely fruit snacks with them too!

Family Talk Homework

This term as a school we will be setting family talk homework.

What is Talk Homework?

Talk homework is a planned discussion which takes place at home, topics should interest all family members regardless of age.

Whole school tasks will be set every 2 weeks on a Thurdsay, then class talk homework will be set every other week. The children will spend 30 minutes in class each Thursday discussing and sharing their homework

Ultimately we want to improve children’s listening and talking habits so we will be developing a consistent whole school approach to aid the development of quality listening and talking at Milton.

A child can only speak or write within the range of vocabulary or structures that they have already learned within the home, community or school. We need your help to support your child in learning new words and phrases, this will help their learning in reading and writing too!

The first talk mat can be accessed by clicking the link below, you may wish to print and record your responses and ideas in you child’s homework jotter.  Please feel free to print the talk mat and record responses on here if this is easier.
