Halloween

It is lovely to have the children back after their Tattie Holidays.
Due to the current restrictions preventing the children from guising and enjoying Halloween we thought they might enjoy a day of Halloween themed activities on Friday within their class bubble.

The children can dress up if they wish but we ask for no masks or props.

Thank You

Huge thank you to Invergordon Community Spirit who kindly donated colouring books and pencils for all our children in School and Nursery. The children were delighted with them and were really enjoying using them in school before the holidays. We really appreciate it. A big THANK YOU.

Fundraising Update

Hello Everyone.

I just wanted to say a HUGE Thank You for all of the support with our fundraising efforts over the past two weeks. We, as a staff were blown away with all of your fundraising efforts. We are a small school in a small community but we make a FANTASTIC team. Overall we managed to raise a total if £2,183 to help fund our new library which is an AMAZING total and it was only achieved through a real team effort. Well done Team Milton!

Thank you again
All of the staff at Milton!

End of Term

Please see attached an end of term letter from our Executive Chief Officer, Nicky Grant.
Thank you all for welcoming me to Milton this term, I have loved being here and I am delighted to be staying for the remainder of the session. I would like to thank our fabulous staff for what has been a very different term but they have been incredible at adapting, also our superb children who have been so resilient. It really has been great to have the children back in school.
School will close for the holidays tomorrow, Friday 9th October at 3pm. I hope you all have a great holiday and recharge the batteries.
We look forward to seeing the children back on Monday 26th October.
Take care,
Mrs Dunnett

Blackout Poetry

We had a lovely morning in P5/6/7 yesterday with a literacy session looking at blackout poetry. We took pieces of text from other people and step by step we worked together to create our own masterpieces. We started by looking for a key word and then we took words that we thought might make a nice poem together. After checking it all made sense, followed a theme and flowed nicely, we got to the fun part of blacking out the rest of the text. It is a lovely activity to play with the meaning of language and to aid writer’s block, we’ve all had it!

The class have all done a fantastic job! Check out some of our work below.
