“We will remember them”

The Nursery Children this morning took time to make poppies to remember all those who went to war. Aren’t they lovely?

Here are some of the things they have said about what they learned; “Some came back but some never.” “They did it for all of us.” “To remember from the wars.” “Because of the graveyard.” “To remember all the people at the war.” “Poppy” “Because they died.”

MG Alba Scots Traditional Music Awards

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Douglas (Strings tuition) has been nominated for an award. If your child has been taught by Mrs Douglas in the past and you feel you’d like to show her your support, I am sure it would be much appreciated. If you click the link below – the category she is nominated in is on the last page. You do not have to vote in all categories.

Mrs Douglas sent us the following message:

This year, I have the honour of being nominated for ‘Tutor of the Year’ at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.  I only heard last week and I’m still in disbelief to be honest!

Voting is now open and I’ve attached the link here incase you would like to vote.

From all of us here at Milton, we’d like to wish Mrs Douglas the very best of luck.

Face Coverings

Today we have received updated guidance from Highland Council with respect to national guidance from the Scottish Government.

Please take note of the change in guidance with respect to face coverings:
Across all levels, face coverings should be worn by adults at all times where they cannot keep two metres from other adults and/children in Primary Schools. FACE COVERINGS SHOULD ALSO BE WORN BY PARENTS AND OTHER VISITORS TO ANY SCHOOL SITE (WHETHER ENTERING THE BUILDING OR OTHERWISE), INCLUDING PARENTS AT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP.

Thank you for your support with this!

Shortly information will be shared with update changes to our current guidance.

Hall of Fame

This week we have started something new to recognise and reward children who are continually trying their best and working hard. Each week children will be chosen by their class teacher to go on our ‘Wall of Fame’ for standing out from the rest. They will then get to take part in a wee activity as a reward. This week it is pumpkin carving.

Here are this week’s superstars who will be making their way to the wall of fame.

Please only complete the following survey if your child is a pupil at our school.

We would be very grateful if you could complete the following survey to help us plan for homework this term. Please let me know if there are any issues with the link – we had a trial run in School and all seems ok. You only need to complete the survey once.
