Literacy Hour
A huge thank you to the 12 parents who made it along to our workshops last Thursday. The staff were so pleased to have the opportunity to work alongside parents. We understand that the timings of the workshops do not suit everyone but when you are able to come it means everything to us! We need mums and dads to help us to support children to be the very best they can be . The next family workshop will be held during the evening in term 4 during health week.
Cross Country
The cross country race at Bridgend was much busier than the first race of the season in Fortrose.
Team Milton did themselves proud. Cross Country can be tough at times, especially when there so many runners!
The staff were all very proud of the runners today, everyone crossed the finish line with a smile and showed great determination after a very busy start line.
Our next race is in Dingwall on 4th December at 1.30.
At assembly last week we talked about Geraint Thomas.
- – Geraint Thomas entered his first Tour de France in 2007, where, out of 141 racers, he finished second to last. Many people might have been tempted to give up if that was their first race experience, but not Geraint – he was determined to persevere.
– In 2013, Geraint finished the Tour de France, helping his teammate to first place while riding with a fractured pelvis.
– Geraint has faced plenty of obstacles on his path to winning the Tour de France, including broken bones, knocks and falls, as well as enduring years of training.
– Finally, in 2018, after more than ten years of trying, he won the Tour de France.
– Geraint didn’t give up. His perseverance was enough to gain him the most prestigious prize in the cycling world.
A message to all of our cross country runners – Persevere. Every second that you take of your previous race time is a victory. It is not always about the placing – it’s about being your personal best and challenging yourself every time you run.
A positive attitude will lead to positive outcomes.
Thank you!!
We just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our quiz tonight. I hope you all agree it was a very enjoyable and successful evening.
We have raised £522 for our J-Rock mission so far!
Congratulations to the Nimmons family who were our overall quiz winners!
Also congratulations to Stacey and Jenni who won our raffle!!

J Rock Quiz
Please remember that we are having a quiz in the Mercat Centre at 6pm tonight to raise money to support our upcoming J-Rock performance. With Mrs Sutherland as the quiz master it is destined to be a night of fun and laughter! It is a Family quiz so everyone is welcome. There will be questions for children and adult alike!

Also, at the quiz we will be holding a raffle to win this fantastic ‘Family Night in Hamper’.

If you cannot make it to the quiz but would still like to be in with the chance of winning the hamper please see Mrs Nimmons in the office before the end of the day (or at 3pm when you’re picking your child up!)
Hope to see you all there!
A brilliant turn out down in the Academy today at 2.00pm and 6.00pm. Our Chromebook Community Leaders did an amazing job, they all spoke on the stage to a very large group of adults.
Thank you to the parents who came along, we hope that you found the session both interesting and informative.
Bring on the Chromebooks 👍
