Good Evening everyone and Happy New Year!

It was lovely to welcome the children back yesterday. They appeared refreshed and raring to go, however, there were some very tired faces come 3.00pm. On to Day 2 and the holidays already feel like a distant memory.

The weather conditions continue to be ever-changing. The paths to access the school were gritted this morning by our facilities management staff and I was able to throw some out on the playground tarmac area, however, may I ask you to be mindful of the surface underfoot whilst dropping off/collecting your child at/from school. Staff continually warn children about the dangers out in the playground but as I’m sure you’ll remember sliding on the frost/ice can be great fun and unfortunately accidents do tend to happen. Footwear with grips will be best for the foreseeable.

Mrs Nimmons has been checking our records and we are VERY short of permission slips for Aigas photography sharing. If you have not already done so, could you please sign and return it ASAP. If you have misplaced your slip, or your child did not bring one home, please pop into the school office to get another one.

After school clubs will resume next week. Keep a look out in your child’s school bag for details of clubs that are available. A permission slip must be signed and returned for your child to attend, prior to the club commencing.

An Early lunch will take place on Friday 12th January. Any children wishing to have home lunch on Friday should be collected from school at 12.00pm and returned at 12.45pm prompt. Many thanks for your understanding.

This afternoon the Packed Lunch/Healthy Eating Club enjoyed tasting delicious soup that some of the members made.  We had homemade tomato and also sweet potato and red pepper flavours.  We hope you enjoy looking at these photos.  We want to say a huge thanks to Mel who runs this club and puts in so much effort and time!

The winner of the Nursery Elf was Wilma who guessed the name Fred.

Congratulations Wilma, we hope Fred has a nice Christmas with you.

We were very fortunate to have a visit from the above group this afternoon.  They told the Nativity Story through Puppets and singing songs.  Everyone agreed we had a fabulous time!

Please note, the Primary 1 children will be supporting the Nursery sing along tomorrow.

Primary 1 parents are warmly invited along, if you’d like to watch, to the Gym Hall at 11.00am.

Apologies for the late post but just incase I forget tomorrow morning, just a reminder it’s Christmas Jumper Day tomorrow (Friday 15th December). Your child(ren) are welcome to wear their jumpers to school. They are also welcome to bring along a donation for Save the Children 😊

A copy of the note sent home today for anyone who missed it: We’ve had some busy little elves today making some beautiful homemade crafts to sell. These will vary in price and be available to purchase from 2.00pm tomorrow.

If anyone has any donations to make to our baking, Bric-a-brac or decoration stall, please leave these with Mrs Nimmons at the Office as early as possible so we can get everything priced up in plenty time.

Our lovely Parent Council will be selling teas, coffees and mince pies at both performances tonight.

50 pence will get you a cup of tea/coffee and a mince pie or piece of shortbread.

Look at our amazing gymnastics.  We have been very lucky to have Melissa from Fyrish Gymnastics Club in for 5 weeks giving us lessons.  This was our last one today and we had lots of fun!
