Woods Visits

On Wednesdays, Nursery and P1/2 have been making the most of their weekly woods visits together. It is a super transition and play opportunity while also exploring the great outdoors. Here is a few pictures from the last few weeks together.

Digging for gold & minibeasts, climbing trees & taking risks, measuring, making pizza & new friends were the themes of this week’s woodland visit with the Nursery.

A wonderful day at the woods jumping, driving police cars, making potions, digging holes and managing our own risks…

We also worked on our gross motors skills whilst climbing and balancing and explored the den made by p2/3/4 – pretending to be dinosaurs trapped in jail! Another great visit to Milton woods. 🌲

P2/3/4 go every Friday, last week they were developing their numeracy skills and creating patterns.

Nursery also love to go walks…

While out walking, they enjoyed a rest at the woodland cabins. All the children received SHANARRI stickers for being healthy and active enjoying the outdoors. When asked the children said: “It made me feel happy.” “I was running the fastest.” “I liked the climbing.” “Haggis was having fun with us.”
