We hope that you have received your hand made invitation to our Marie Curie Daffodil Tea tomorrow.

P5/6/7 are hosting this fabulous event.

Tea/Coffee and cakes will be available for £2

The children will also be selling their mini pots of care. A very big thank you to everyone who has sent back their envelope containing loose change. Your donations will really make a difference to the lives of others.

“Marie Curie Nurses work day and night looking after people with a terminal illness who want to be cared for at home in their final days – but they can only do so thanks to your generous support.”

Football fun and freebies!

The young footballers at Milton are over the moon with the HUGE bag of goodies that Charlie brought along with him to the school on Monday. This week saw the end of a fabulous 6 week programme led by Charlie MacPhee as part of the Tesco Bank Football programme.

The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed their sessions and what a delight to see all players shaking hands at the end of every game!

Cosy new nests made by the Nursery!

Milton Nursery have been busy making bird boxes for the local wild birds.

The nursery boys and girls explain what they have been busy doing…

“We sawed the wood, hammered on nails and even got to use the power drill. We all made sure we were safe by listening and following instructions and of course we wore safety glasses to protect our eyes! Once the boxes were finished we put in some cotton wool to help the birds make their nest nice and cosy inside.”

A very special thank you Mrs Forth’s Dad who volunteered to come along to the Nursery and provide this fabulous experience for the children. They will remember their morning building bird boxes for a very long time!

Murphy came to Milton!

A very special thank you to Murphy the African Grey Parrot who came along to visit Milton Nursery and Primary this morning. Courtney and Sienna were keen to share some facts about their feathered friend. The children in nursery all asked some super questions and found lots of interesting things…Murphy likes to sleep on his swing, he eats seeds fruit and veg but for a treat loves prawn crackers! He stayed for the whole session to watch what happens at nursery and even spoke to the children.

The North Star came into school last week, keep you eyes open for some Milton news in the paper over the next couple of weeks. The children were sharing their news about our school “Run To Poland” and P5-7 were photographed and interviewed on their technology project (which involves a horse, a witch and a man called Tam-have you guessed the poem yet?).

Primary 5/6/7 were delighted to have a visit from two very special guests on Friday 23rd January. SPL star Tony Dingwall took time out of his busy training schedule to visit Milton Primary along with Head Of Youth at Ross County, Steven Ferguson.

The children heard about their favourite books and were able to share their favourite novels with Tony and Steven. P5-7 asked some superb questions. Riley was really surprised to hear how important maths and language skills are to players, both on and off the pitch!

A huge thank you to Ross County, we really appreciated your visit and are delighted with our books (which Tony even signed). Definitely a Friday to remember!

Thank you Staggies!
